Abstract:SiC particles were pretreated by high temperature roasting and water washing process. SiCp/Al-25Si composite was prepared by vacuum hot pressing. The microstructure and tensile strength of the composite with pretreated or original SiC particles were studied. The results show that the SiCp/Al-25Si composite with pretreated SiC particles has higher interface bonding strength, less pores, and much higher relative density and tensile strength.
