Abstract:The iron powder extracted from the converter steelmaking dust, namely sludge iron powder, was sieved through 150 μm (100 mesh) screen mesh. The screen powder nears to globular with total iron grade more than 80.00% (mass percent). Three kinds of modification methods were used to change the powder particles into irregular shape, and then the modified powder was reduced and broken. The fine iron powder which meets the requirements of diamond matrix was then achieved. Among the modification methods, the physical method has short process, low cost and obvious effect.
