Abstract:The deformation processing technologies of powder metallurgy molybdenum rod such as rolling, rapid forging, air hammer free forging and precision forging were introduced in detail. The effects of different deformation processing technologies on the mechanical properties and microstructure of molybdenum rod were studied. The results show that molybdenum rods with uniform microstructure and excellent properties can be obtained by rolling and rapid forging processes. By strictly controlling the heating temperature and pass deformation, the air hammer free forging process can also produce molybdenum rods with uniform and consistent structure. Due to the characteristics of precision forging, the microstructure and properties of the surface layer and the core of the molybdenum rod prepared by precision forging are quite different, but it is suitable for producing molybdenum rods with longer specifications.
