Analysis of surface streaking on tungsten infiltrated copper gas rudder

Abstract:Taking tungsten infiltrated copper gas rudder (W-7Cu) as the research object, stripes with a width of 1~
2 mm appeared during the machining process were analyzed. The results show that the stripes on the machined surface
are a localized densified structure of tungsten skeleton produced by high- temperature sintering of tungsten.
Non-destructive testing methods can not detect the stripes, and the stripe are not internal defects that can be identified
by non-destructive testing.The presence of stripes has an effect on the local mechanical properties, but has little
effect on the overall performance, and the performance meets the technical requirements.
