Abstract:The mechanical properties, friction coefficient, stability of friction coefficient and wear rate of friction
materials of ZD6 switch machine determine the stability of friction current, which ultimately affect the normal
operation of track system. In order to meet the requirements of stable and reliable output force of switch ma‐
chine, selecting friction materials suitable for the working conditions of switch machine is of great significance.
Aiming at the problems of low friction stability and high wear rate of ZD6 switch machine friction belt in low
temperature and high humidity environment, the friction materials for ZD6 switch machine were prepared by
powder metallurgy technology. On the basis of mature formula, the effects of different kinds of friction perfor‐
mance regulators on the comprehensive mechanical properties and friction and wear properties of the materials
were studied and compared, and the impact section morphology and friction surface morphology of the samples
were observed by scanning electron microscope(SEM). The wear mechanism of friction materials for ZD6
switch machine with five different kinds of friction performance regulators was compared and analyzed. The re‐
sults show that the wear mechanism of ZD6 switch machine friction material with artificial graphite as friction
property regulator is abrasive wear, and its comprehensive mechanical properties and friction and wear proper‐
ties are the best. It is the best choice for ZD6 switch machine powder metallurgy friction belt.
