Study on the process of recovering valuable metals from spent catalyst by alkali-acid combined leaching method

Abstract:In order to reduce the waste of valuable metals in the spent catalyst and realize the effective recovery
and utilization of resources, the alkali-acid combined leaching method was adopted to recover the valuable metals
in the spent hydrogenation catalyst. The effects of leaching time, leaching temperature, sodium carbonate concen‐
tration and liquid-solid ratio on the leaching behavior of valuable metals were investigated. The results show that
the optimal leaching conditions are reaction time of 2 h, leaching temperature of 80 ℃, sodium carbonate concen‐
tration of 150 g/L and solid-liquid ratio of 1:8. At this time, the leaching rate of molybdenum is 94.57% and that of
vanadium is 93.21%; When the leaching time is 60 min, the sulfuric acid concentration is 3 mol/L, the temperature
is 70 ℃ and the solid-liquid ratio is 1:8, the leaching rate of nickel is 94.16% and that of aluminum is 23.43%. Af‐
ter the spent hydrogenation catalyst undergoes an alkali-acid combined leaching process, the valuable metals’total
leaching rate of molybdenum, vanadium, aluminum and nickel reaches 96.45%, 95.37%, 23.43% and 94.16%, re‐
spectively
