Study on related parameters of powder metallurgy aluminum foam |

Abstract Based on the preparation of foamed aluminum by powder metallurgy foaming method, the influence of related parameters on the preparation of foamed aluminum was studied. The results show that, the decomposition peak temperature of TiH2 is 640 ℃, which is close to the melting point of Al. The gas volume of TiH2 decomposition is 30 times higher than that of CaCO3 with same quality. TiH2 is the better foaming agent for fabricating Al foam. The proper foaming temperature for pure Al is 700-750 ℃, and the proper foaming time is 900 s. When the mass fraction of the oxide film is about 9.8%, the porosity reaches the maximum value of 77%, and the pore size is the most uneven when the oxide film mass fraction is 8.2%.
