| Current situation analysis and development strategy of rare earth industry |

Abstract As an indispensable strategic raw material for the development of emerging industries, rare earth is of
great value in the field of powder metallurgy materials, among which rare earth permanent magnet materials pre‐
pared by powder metallurgy technology have been widely used in many fields such as high-tech. In recent years,
the world pattern is quietly changing, and countries such as the United States, Japan and Europe are trying to desinicize the industrial chain. Under the new situation, the development status of the rare earth industries in China
and abroad is analyzed and the preliminary study is made by using SWOT matrix analysis method. The consen‐
sus of regrouping industry is proposed, and the driving role of China's advantageous strategic resources and the
advantages of strong industry strength are given full play. Seize the opportunity of "carbon neutrality" and digi‐
tal intelligence transformation, overcome their own disadvantages, strengthen original technology research and
global layout, and ultimately transform upstream resource advantages into downstream material manufacturing,
device application, economic development and other all-round advantages.
