| Research status on the wear of PCBN super-hard material cutting tool in machining different cast iron material |

Abstract Because of high hardness, good wear resistance and chemical stability, the application of PCBN super-hard material cutting tools in the field of automobile manufacturing is becoming more and more widely. Research status on the wear of PCBN cutting tool in machining gray cast iron, nodular cast iron and vermicular cast iron were summarized and analyzed. The wear?mechanisms of PCBN cutting tools in machining three kinds of cast iron were discussed mainly from several aspects, such as cutting tool material, process parameters, workpiece material, cutting conditions and processing way etc.. Finally, the wear situations of tools in cutting different types of cast iron were summarized.
