Abstract Following a period of severe recession in 2008 and 2009, the global PM industry is once again on a path of sustained growth, as was illustrated in the presentations given by Richard Pfingstler, MPIF President, Philippe Gundermann, EPMA President, and Mamoru Moritani, JPMA President, in the “global trends” plenary session at the PM2014 world congress held in Orlando, May 18-22.
