Abstract Nanocrystalline supersaturated solid solution can be obtained by mechanical alloying in Fe-Cu immiscible system, which shows the unique properties compared with micro-scale structure. The progress in mechanical alloying of nanocrystalline supersaturated solid solution in Fe-Cu immiscible system was overviewed, with focus on the formation mechanism of nanocrystalline supersaturated solid solution, as well as mechanical and physical properties.
