Abstract The fundamental and related theory for combustion synthesis of ferrovanadium nitride was studied. As combustion synthesis is on the base of “solid flame” study, some characteristics related to solid flame were described. The combustion synthesis process of ferrovanadium nitride and its metallurgy characteristics were also introduced.
