Abstract There are lots of different mixers for powder materials， which have their own mixing features. In the production of modern powder industry， mixer is one of necessary production tools. However， there are few reports on the metal powder mixer， due to the special properties of metal powder， such as aluminum powder， which has small particle size and is easy oxidation， inflammable and explosive. A new type of mixer specially designed for aluminum powder was introduced. The function of the mixer is mainly used for mixing aluminum powder or other metal powder materials. There are two main purposes of mixing， one is for combination uniformity of two or more than two kinds of materials， and the other one is for particle size uniformity of the same material. The main characteristic of the mixer is multi tanks with one machine. It reduces the auxiliary time and can greatly increase the mixing amount per unit time. More importantly， different materials can be loaded into different tanks for mixing operation， which saves the mixing tank cleaning， drying and other processes etc.
