Abstract The ZnCoxFe2O4 （x＝0，0.25，0.50，0.75） nanoparticles for semiconductor with various Co doping ratios were prepared by hydrothermal method. The effect of Co content on microstructure and infrared spectrum of nanoparticles ZnFe2O4 was studied through XRD， EDS and FTIR. The results show that the diffraction peak of the samples doped with Co ions widens and the crystal quality of the materials is better. With the increasing concentration of Co ions， the diffraction peaks begin to drift toward the lower angle direction. The sample treated with Co doping has larger particle size and higher surface roughness. With the increase of Co doping concentration， the infrared spectrum test results of the samples do not change significantly. After Co ions entering the crystal， the lattice position of Zn ion lattice is replaced， but the lattice structure of ZnFe2O4 is still maintained.
