| Effect of powder shape on microscopic morphology and rheological properties of Ti-6Al-4V injection molding feedstock |

Abstract Microscopic morphology and rheological properties of Ti-6Al-4V injection molding feedstock with dif‐
ferent powder shapes were studied by particle size analysis, microscopic morphology analysis and rheological prop‐
erty analysis. Powder loading test results show that the critical powder loading of S-Ti powder feedstock and HDHTi powder feedstock are 67% and 52% respectively. Viscosity(η) and flow behavior index(n) values of S-Ti powder
feedstock are lower than those of HDH-Ti powder feedstock at optimum powder loading, which indicate that the STi powder feedstock has better fluidity. Particle shape analysis result shows that reducing specific surface area of
powder is helpful to the increasing of the critical loading of Ti-6Al-4V powder injection molding feedstock. In addi‐
tion, theoretical research and energy spectrum analysis point out that the fluidity of HDH-Ti powder feedstock is
decided by the distribution of smaller particle.
