Abstract In order to detect and study the performance of powder forged connecting rods after shot blasting quickly
and accurately,X-ray diffraction method was used to test the shaft parts of the powder forged connecting rod,
and the residual compressive stress distribution and numerical change trend of the surface before and after shot
blasting. The microstructure and crack growth were analyzed. The results show that the surface densification of the
powder forged connecting rod is improved after shot blasting strengthening, and the value of the residual compressive
stress on the surface is increased, which is conducive to improving the fatigue strength of the powder forged connecting
rod and reducing the initiation of fatigue cracks, thus improving the service life of the powder forged connecting
rod,and has certain guiding significance for the production of the powder forged connecting rod.
