Abstract:(Nd1-xREx)2. 2Fe13. 7B1. 1 (RE=Ho, Tm) compounds obtained by arc- melting and melt- spinning, and the effects of heavy rare earth elements Ho and Tm on the crystal structure, microstructure and magnetic properties of NdFeB alloy were studied by means of X- ray diffraction, scanning electron microscopy and vibrating sample magnetometer. The results show that Nd12. 94Fe80. 59B6. 47 alloy ribbon prepared at the speed of 23m/s quenchinghas the best comprehensive magnetic properties; With the increase of Ho and Tm doping, the remanence of (Nd1-xREx)12. 94- Fe80. 59B6. 47 alloy ribbons decreases. However, the coercive force of the alloy ribbons is obviously enhanced. It is considered that the addition of heavy rare earth Ho, Tm enhances the local magnetocrystalline anisotropy field of the alloy, resulting in the increase of coercivity.
