Abstract:Effect of the different solid solution temperatures on the microstructure and property was investigated. The results indicate that the hardness of the alloy gradually increase from 379HV to 394HV and compressive strength decrease from 500 MPa to 225 MPa with the increase of the solid solution temperature. Comparing with the Fe-24Al alloys, the alloy becomes brittle. The phase structure of the casting alloys are comprised of B2 (FeAl) ordered phase, Fe3Al, Fe9Sn and a few of Sn. B2→DO3(Fe3Al) phase transformation gradually occurs as the solid solution temperature increase.
