Abstract:The Fe- Si- Al powders were flattened by using stirring and ball- milling first and then annealed at different temperatures for different time. The effects of flattening and heat treatment on the powder size, morphology and phase were investigated with laser particle size analyzers, SEM and XRD. In addition, the electromagnetic parameters of the microwave absorbing materials made from the prepared Fe- Si- Al powders were studied in a range of 1 MHz- 100 MHz with a impedance analyzer. The results show that the flattening and annealing of Fe- Si- Al powders significantly increase the complex permeability of absorbing materials. The absorbing material which were made by the flattened Fe- Si- Al powders and annealing at 600 ℃ for 2 h shows a more excellent electromagnetic parameters in the range of 1 MHz- 100 MHz, the initial permeability up to 64.
