Effect on Brittle of Titanium Aluminum Compound by Doping Cr, Mo, W Additions

Abstract:The structural properties, formation enthalpies and the mechanical properties of doped Ti3Al alloys are studied by using embedded-atom method. The result showed that calculated both formation enthalpies and volumes of Ti75-xAl25-yMx+y (M=Cr, Mo and W) decrease with increasing the additional concentrations. The effects of mechanical properties are different by doping different elements, and the results consist with the experiments.
