Abstract：Following Fe-based, Ni-based and TbDyFe rare earth giant magnetostrictive alloys, a new developed magnetostrictive Fe-Ga alloy, which contains merits of low cost, large strain, low saturation field and good mechanical properties, attracts great attention in recent study all over the world. The latest study on phase structure, greatly enhanced magnetostriction and the third element doping, and shows the trend in the development of new generation of magnetostrictive materials were focuses on.
