Abstract:The influence of annealing temperature on the microstructure and damping capacity of Fe- 22Mn- 12Cr- 4Co- 2Nb alloy were studied by metallography, XRD and DSC. The results showed that the damping capacity of the alloy forged without annealing is the best, when the strain amplitude is 2×10-4, the logarithmic decrement (δ) of the alloy reaches to 0. 086. In addition, with the increase of the annealing temperature, the damping capacity of the alloy decreases. The damping capacity of the alloy is positively correlated with the stacking fault probability of the γ austenite. Howerve, there is not a positively correlated relationship between the damping capacity and the volume fraction of ε martensite in the alloy can be observed.
