Abstract:The control effect of different stabilizers on the hydrochloric acid pickling process for ferritic stainless steel were investigated by weight loss curve and scanning electron microscope (SEM). The results indicated that both complex stabilizer hydrofluoric acid and adsorption stabilizer 5-sulfosalicylic acid dehydrate (SAD) have good effect on the removal of oxide scales. Furthermore, SAD is superior to HF on the stability control and the smooth of pickled surface.
