Abstract:Gd3Al2-XGax,Gd3-xMnxAl1.8Ga0.2,Gd3-XMnxAl2Gd3-X and ZnxAl2 samples were prepared by high-frequency floating furnaceand and heat treatment process. The effect of Ga,Mn and Zn on the magnetocaloric effect and structure of Gd3Al2 alloy was studied at the magnetic field of 1.5 Tesla. The results show thatthe crystal structure of Gd3Al2 alloy is not affected by metallic elements;the maximum adiabatic temperature changes of Gd3Al2 alloy can be increased by a small amount of Ga instead of A;the Curie temperature can be increased by a small amount of Mn instead of Gd on the basis of Gd3Al1.8Ga0.2,and the maximum adiabatic temperature change of Gd3Al2 alloy is almost unchanged;and the maximum adiabatic temperature change of Gd3Al2 alloy decreases when a small amount of Mn and Zn is substituted for Al,and the Curie temperature of Gd3Al2 alloy is increased.
