Abstract:Laser powder bed fusion has been applied in manufacturing of complicated and cantilever structure due
to its relatively high accuracy and good surface quality, but the pore defects within the parts has limited its wider
application. This paper summarizes the formation reason of pore defects from the viewpoint of powder feedstock,
metallurgical process, and geometric structure of the part, et al, and at the same time, the investigated detecting
methods of pore defects at home and abroad are analyzed. Meanwhile, the influence of pores on the properties of
the parts and how to effectively reduce or decrease the pore defects is introduced, and on this basis, the future research
direction of the pore defects is put forward.
