Preparation and oxidation behavior of Si-Ti-Hf high temperature anti-oxidation
coatings on Ta-10Walloy

Abstract:Tantalum alloy(Ta-10W) has been widely used in high-temperature structural materials due to its hightemperature
strength, good corrosion resistance, good ductility and solderability. But its poor high-temperature oxidation
resistance at 500 ℃ is the main factor restricting its application, so it must be protected with an anti-oxidation
coating at the surface. The uniform, dense and smooth Si-Ti-Hf silicide coating was prepared by fused slurry
method on the surface of Tantalum alloy. The high temperature oxidation resistance of the coating which could effectively
protect tantalum tungsten substrate from oxygen attack was excellent.
