Abstract:The magnetic amorphous powders with high sphericity were prepared by water- air atomization. The
morphology and phase constituents of powders were analyzed by scanning electron microscopy and X-ray diffraction.
The results show that the alloy composition and powder particle size have great effect on the sphericity and
glass forming ability of amorphous powder. The magnetic hysteresis loop and coercivity of the amorphous powder
were measured by vibrating sample magnetometer. The amorphous powders were pressed into soft magnetic powder
core, then the effective permeability, DC bias and core losses of core were measured and discussed. The research
indicates that the particle size, degree of amorphization, saturation magnetization and coercivity of magnetic
amorphous powder have great influence on the magnetic properties of theamorphous powder core.
