Abstract:In this study, the spherical metal powder with the size of 15-53 μm was prepared by supreme-speed plasma
rotating electrode process (SS-PREP) , which can be used for selective laser melting (SLM). The fluidity of the
powder is 12.1 s/50g, the apparent density is 5.0 g/cm3, and the tap density 5.31 g/cm3. Additive Manufacturing was
carried out with laser power at 160 W, scanning speed at 1 200 mm/s, printing distance at 0.07 mm, spot diameter
at 0.06 mm and powder layer thickness at 0.03 mm. The mechanical properties, metal-ceramic bonding strength,
warpage deformation, genotoxicity, cytotoxicity, and delayed-type hypersensitivity were tested and analyzed after
heat treatment. It showes that AM parts produced by the route of "supreme-speed plasma rotating electrode process+
laser selective melting+heat treatment (SS-PREP+SLM+HT)" could meet the requirements of denture performance
and clinical use.
