Abstract:The compaction law of GCr15 bearing steel powder was analyzed. Influences of Cu addition on the green density, spring-back, sintered density and performance were explored, and the effect of pressure and sintering temperature on the density and hardness was studied. The results show that the compaction law of GCr15 bearing steel powder is accorded with Huang Pei-yun compaction equation. The green density increases with increasing pressure lower than 1 300 MPa, and the sintered density increases with increasing sintering temperature lower than 1 300 ℃. Addition of copper can improve the green and sintered density, but has little effect on the spring-back. For the GCr15 compacts without copper, the green density of 6.60 g/cm3 and spring-back of 1.73% are obtained when the pressure is 1 200 MPa, and after sintered at 1 150 ℃ for 2 h in H2 atmosphere, the sintered density is 6.91 g/cm3. While the compacts of GCr15 bearing steel powders with 5% (mass percent) copper powder sintered at 1 300 ℃ for the same time and in the same atmosphere, the density of 7.23 g/cm3 and the hardness of 36.3 HRC are achieved.
