Abstract A modified catalytic debinding binder was developed and applied to the iron-based porous materials injection molding. The results show that feedstock of the binder exhibites pseudoplastic and good rheological properties, while the non-newton index[n]and the viscous flow activation energy[E]are 0.378 and 40.89 kJ/mol respectively at 180 ℃, 1 961 s-1 shear rate. Using HNO3 as catalyst, catalytic degreasing rate is quick and up to 1 mm/h, and the debinding rate reaches 85.6% after catalytic debinding for 5 h. The porous materials prepared by powder injection molding method show uniform pores distribution. Besides, the tensile strength of the porous materials is 460.68 MPa while the opening porosity is 19.44%.
