Abstract The market prospects, technical status and preparation methods of silver powder used in pastes for single-crystalline or polycrystalline silicon solar cells metallization were introduced. The characteristics of various preparation methods were analyzed. The problems existed in the silver powder industry and research were summarized, and the development trends were also discussed.
