Abstract The magnetic material industry is developing rapidly, but its insulation coating process is still flawed, and the organic coating process still has a lot of room for improvement. The bisphenol A epoxy resin adhesive was prepared by adding different curing agent and coupling agent, and the magnetic ring can be directly tested was prepared by mixing and granulating the adhesive with the soft magnetic powder. The magnetic permeability, insulation resistance, compressive strength and density of the magnetic ring were tested. It is found that with the increase of curing agent content, the heat release rate in the process of reaction and the density of the magnetic ring increase firstly and then decrease. However, different curing agents have different effects on the insulation resistance and compressive strength. With the increase of coupling agent, the insulation resistance of the magnetic ring increases, the permeability decreases, and the compressive strength increases firstly and then decreases.
