Abstract Because neutron absorption cross-section of boron is large，boron-containing neutron absorber materials are widely used in fuel storage， transportation and neutron shielding protection. The main preparation methods， basic properties and application of B4C/Al， boron stainless steel， boron containing polymers and Al/W/WC/B4C composite material were discussed.
