Experimental research on corrosion resistance of Fe3Al and stainless steel porous material in H2S-containing gas environment |

Abstract With the rapid development of cleaning coal technology, more and more attention has been paid on the filtration technology and material in high temperature H2S environment. The mass and permeability change were tested for Fe3Al and stainless steel porous material in H2S environment. The results show that Fe3Al material has excellent corrosion resistance under 2vol% H2S content, while stainless steel porous material has worse corrosion resistance due to the blocked pore structure caused by corrosion product after 1 500 h experiment. Energy spectrum analysis and X-ray diffraction results show that the corrosion products containing sulfur does not form on the surface of Fe3Al, while the corrosion products based on FeS form on the surface of 316L stainless steel.
