Effect of aging temperature on PPB and mechanical properties of PM FGH96 alloy |

Abstract The powder metallurgy FGH96 alloy was prepared by plasma rotating electrode process (PREP) and hot isostatic pressing (HIP). Effects of aging temperature on microstructure and mechanical properties of FGH96 alloy were studied. The results show that the grain size and twin crystal of FGH96 alloy have no obvious change, while the prior particle boundary (PPB) increases obviously with the increase of aging temperature. The tensile strength and yield strength of the alloy decrease, while the elongation, shrinkage and creep elongation increase with the increase of aging temperature. The morphology of cracking along the powder particles in the tensile fracture increases with aging temperature increasing.
