Effect of hot isostatic pressing on densification and microstructure evolution mechanism of castings |

Abstract The densification mechanism of hot isostatic pressed castings was studied, and the hot isostatic pressing densification model was analyzed. Based on the alloy creep theory and powder metallurgy sintering theory, the mechanism of the internal pores defect closure during the process of hot isostatic pressing was discussed by using the existing physical and mathematical models. It is confirmed that the pore deformation mechanism plays an important role for the casting densification in the process of hot isostatic pressing, which provides a theoretical guide for the selection of appropriate process parameters for hot isostatic pressing.
