Abstract A new 3D printing process, 3D gel-printing (3DGP), was used to prepare stainless steel parts. The rheological properties of metal slurry for 3D printing were analyzed. Results show that the metal slurry with solid content of 61.5% (volume percent) has good rheological properties, which is suitable for 3D gel-printing. The green body prepared by 3D printing has good surface quality, and with no obvious stratification phenomenon. The stainless steel body with relative density of 95.7% was achieved after sintered at 1 350 ℃ for 1 h.
