Abstract The development history of powder titanium alloy prepared by hot isostatic pressing technology for more than 60 years and the present situation of research and development in the world were reviewed. The problems encountered in the market development in the field of aerospace were analyzed， and the solutions were also put forward. At last the future trends of the technology were presented.
