Study on gelcasting process of iron oxide |

Abstract Gelcasting process using the hydroxyethyl methacrylate as organic monomer and the tetraethylene glycol dipropylenate as crosslinker was investigated respectively. With the addition of mass fraction of 2% of the dispersant of polyacrylamid, Fe2O3 slurries with good dispersibility, low sedimentation rate and suitable viscosity could be obtained. The increase of solid volume fraction can reduce the shrinkage of green body and improve the uniformity of its axial and radial shrinkage. The high solid content can also improve the rela‐ tive density of sintered bodies. The relative density of sintered bodies is increased from 70% to 90% with the increasement of solid content from 30% to 55%.
