Abstract Methylene blue has the characteristics of bright color， high fixing rate and good color fastness， and it has become the fastest growing dye. However， a large amount of waste water is generated during use， which is difficult to biodegrade. Aminated nano-titanium dioxide was prepared by using tetraethyl titanate and 3-aminopropyltrimethoxysilane as raw materials， and then the prepared titanium dioxide was treated with 2% （mass percent） silver nitrate solution to prepare silver-coated nano-titanium dioxide A， B and C. The obtained titanium dioxide was characterized by infrared spectroscopy， and the photocatalytic degradation properties were examined by methylene blue solution. The results show that the silver-coated nano-titanium dioxide B has the best degradation effect on methylene blue， the degradation rate is above 95%， which can fully meet the requirments of industrialized continuous treatment of wastewater.
