Abstract The development status of powder metallurgy components industry in China and the influence of the automobile industry on the development of PM components industry in China were summarized. The status of PM industry in developed area/country was introduced. The status of PM components industry and its relative industry in China were also introduced briefly. The existing problems and the challenges of PM components industry in China were analyzed.
