Abstract:Fe-Cu-C vavle guide was prepared by powder metallurgy with two common sintering temperatures, and the microstructure, density, hardness and crushing strength of the samples were tested. The results show that decarburization at high temperature zone is more serious for the samples sintered at 1 150 ℃ compared to the samples sintered at 1 120 ℃, and the pearlite amount and hardness also decrease when sintered at 1 150 ℃. Furthermore, high temperature accelerates the diffusion of copper, leading to increased porosity and decreased density. In consideration of microstructure, properties and production costs, 1 120 ℃ is the suitable sintering temperature.
