Research progress on the thermodynamics of binary immiscible alloy systems by mechanical alloying

Abstract:During non-equilibrium mechanical alloying of binary immiscible alloy systems, metastable phase, such as supersaturated solid solution, amorphous and nanocomposite, can be prepared, which shows the unique properties compared with alloy with micro-scale structure. The Alonso’s thermodynamic model as well as thermodynamic calculation of metastable phase formation in binary immiscible alloy systems by mechanical alloying were summarized.
