Properties of Ag-SnO2 electrical contact material prepared with nano-flake SnO2 |

Abstract In order to improve the arc erosion resistance of Ag-SnO2 electrical contact material, nano-flake SnO 2 powder was prepared by hydrothermal method, and then, Ag-SnO2 electrical contact material was pre‐ pared by chemical deposition process. The characterization and performance of SnO2 powder and Ag-SnO2 electrical contact material were carried out respectively. The results show that the thickness and width of nano-flake SnO2 are about 50~100 nm and 500 nm, respectively, and the specific surface area nano-flake SnO 2 is 82. 789 2 m2/g. The vickers hardness, density and conductivity of Ag-SnO2 electric contact material are 131. 8, 8.15 g/cm3 and 32% IACS, respectively. After arc erosion, there is no obvious Ag-rich area and SnO2-rich area on the surface of Ag-SnO2 electrical contact material, and the arc erosion resistance is good.
