Abstract:The single phase of BiFeO3 powder with high crystallinity and high purity prepared by hydrothermal synthesis method using (Bi(NO3)3·5H2O), (Fe(NO3)3·9H2O) and NaOH as raw materials. The evolution of phase structure and morphology of BiFeO3 powders were investigated under different reaction temperatures (150- 190℃) and reaction times (5- 48h). It is found that the appropriate reaction time and the increase of temperature contribute to reduce the impurity phase. The morphology of BiFeO3 particles is dominantly affected by temperature, while the reaction time slightly affects the size of BiFeO3 particles. The results also show that the optimized BiFeO3 powders possess relatively strong magnetic properties.
