Abstract:TheAl2CoCrCu1/2FeMoNiTi high-entropy alloy powder was prepared by ball-milling mechanical alloying. X-ray diffractometer, scanning electron microscope and microhardness tester were employed to analyze microstructure and hardness. It is shown that with increasing the time of mechanical alloying, the high-angle XRD peaks of alloying elements disappear, and then those of low-angle peaks become weak until disappearing, finally the peaks of new phase form. Element alloying is related with its melting point, and chromium and nickel with a high melting point are alloyed slowly. After 1 h of ball milling, the alloy powder agglomerates seriously. The powder ball-milled for more than 24 h becomes homogenetic and has a size of about 5 μm. The melting point is between 1 350~1 400 ℃. The largest microhardness value is 80HV0.025.
