Abstract:The surfaces of conductive ceramic Ti3SiC2 particles and carbon fibers were coated respectively with continuous copper through ultrasonic electroless copper plating and continuous electroplating copper method. Two groups the Ti3SiC2/ carbon fiber-copper-graphite composites of the same composition were made by means of powder metallurgy with one added by copper-coated Ti3SiC2 (Group A)and the other by non-copper-coated Ti3SiC2(Group B), and their density, resistivity, hardness, bending strength were tested. The results show that in the two groups of composites, their density, conductivity, hardness and bending strength increase greatly with the increase of Ti3SiC2, and properties of copper-coated Ti3SiC2/ carbon fiber-copper-graphite composites are remarkably superior to the Ti3SiC2/ carbon fiber-copper-graphite composites.
