Abstract:Silver nanoclusters (Ag NCs) are a new type of fluorescent nanomaterials with sizes between metal atoms and nanoparticles. Due to their ultra-small size, they displayed unique physical and chemical properties, such as strong light-induced Luminescence, good biocompatibility, excellent light stability, and unique antibacterial properties have attracted more and more attention in the fields of biosensing, bioimaging and biomedicine. In this review, we mainly focused on the recent advances of the synthesis, functionalization and application of Ag NCs. And we highlight the latest progress in fluorescence properties and bio-related applications. Finally, we also outlook the challenges and prospects of the future development in fluorescence properties of Ag NCs
