Abstract:Spark Plasma Sintering(SPS)was used to prepare the Ti-22Nb alloy for internal combustion engine.
The microstructure and mechanical properties of the Ti- 22Nb alloy after the solid solution and aging treatment
were tested.The results show that the microstructure components are composed of β phase and α phase,and the Ti-
22Nb alloy prepared by SPS method under different heat treatment process transforms from β phase to ω phase,
and then to α phase.The Ti-22Nb alloy after 550 ℃ aging treatment gains smaller α phase than that of the Ti-22Nb
alloy prepared by conventional technology after heat treatment. Ti-22Nb alloys under 830 ℃ solid solution treatment
have excellent mechanical properties than the alloy prepared by conventional method,the tensile strength increases
about 100 MPa.Proper heat treatment process can help the ally obtain better comprehensive mechanical
properties.
