Abstract:Based on industrial CT, the welding morphology of porous materials was investigated. Three kinds of
typical sintered metallic porous material, such as stainless steel powder, wire meshandfiber, are studied respec‐
tively after welding with the dense ring. According to research, the pores of porous material don’t affect the CT
results, within the weld and porous material structure are clearly visible. Due to the outlines in the CT result, the
welding status can be evaluated, the rounder and the brighter, the fuller the welding. Moreover, defects such as
excessive welding, holes, incomplete welding, incomplete fusion and deformation can be found, and the result
can be used as the basis for measuring thickness and distribution.
